JENNIFER ANISTON TOPS CELEB POWER POLL
Aniston tops celebrity power poll
Friends star Jennifer Aniston is the most powerful celebrity on the planet, according to a new list.
The actress has risen from a modest number 28 to top spot in the list compiled by US business magazine Forbes.
According to the magazine, the actress, who earned $35 million last year, shot to number one because she appeared on more magazine covers than any other star.
In comparison, the magazine puts David Beckham in 56th place.
He appears for the first time and is relatively low down the list because he is not yet famous in America, despite a recent trip designed to raise his profile.
The most powerful British star is Sir Paul McCartney, at number six.
The Rolling Stones are in tenth place, reality TV stars Ozzy Osbourne and family at number 12, and Harry Potter author JK Rowling appears at number 15.
And Simon Cowell appears on the list at number 84 after the US version of Pop Idol made him a household name across the Atlantic.
Rapper Eminem comes second in the list, together with producer Dr Dre, followed by golfer Tiger Woods and director Steven Spielberg.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have now earned the title of Hollywood's leading power couple, at numbers five and seven respectively.
